Some of the existing forums will be merged together, and the Erlang/OTP part will be restructured. When there is enough traffic on them to motivate a split, that can be done. The new Erlang/OTP forums will be:
Erlang – A forum for Erlang users discussing the syntax and semantics of the language, including sequential and concurrent programming.
Open Telecom Platform – A forum to discuss behaviours and design principles applied in large scale software design as well as OTP applications such as Corba, Mnesia and SNMP.
Advanced Erlang/OTP – A forum to discuss network, GUI, Web and database programming as well as system installations.
User Contributions – A forum for users to upload their code libraries or provide pointers to external erlang projects which might benefit the community.

Too bad. Even if there was little traffic, it was a nice subdivision of topics. I enjoyed it.

| The big reason for doing this is not only will it make it easier for new people to know where to post, many of the problems span more then one forum, but also to make the forum seem less dead. Less forums means less dates on the first page that is years ago, which also makes it more likely that people will think that there is actually people here every now and then and hopefully that will get more first time visitors to post. |

So true. I am behind you all the way. The only way to know if something works is to experiemnt. And as Francesco mentioned, if there is enough traffic, the groups can be split up again.
Thanks for giving us trapexit.
