Hello everyone! How to login to Windows 8 with username and password? I forgot password for Windows 8!
Since windows 7, the logon screen is configured that you choose your account from a list of user accounts and then type your password.
I have windows 8 installed on my machine. Is it possible to change the logon screen so I have to type both username and password instead of choosing my account from a list?

Generally, booting into Safe Mode (guides searchable on Google) is the way to go in Windows Operating System.
The default password is either blank or "administrator" --- USUALLY. If you can get in via Safe Mode, then you therefore have access to modify the User Accounts on the system, and thus can change the password manually.
Aside from that, I think there are some online guides (searchable on google) regarding resetting the password using brute-force hacks. I have found very few that actually work.
Windows provides a hint for the password. If you still can't log back in, then honestly you may need to look into backing up files, and re-installing the operating system. Sucks, but hey, at least the PC will run faster 
When forgot Windows password, we can Google search a tool online - Windows Password Recovery Tool. It also works great on Windows XP/Vista/7/Server 2008, etc password forgotten.
Below are steps to create Windows password reset disk with Windows Password Recovery to reset forgotten Windows password.
Step 1. Logon a pc that you can download something. Download Windows Password Recovery Tool 3.0, install it with several clicks and then run it.
Step 2. Burn a Windows password reset disk with a blank CD/DVD or USB Flash Drive. A USB Flash Drive will be better if the locked Win pc with the driver.
Step 3. Connect the burned Windows password reset disk with the locked Win computer, Press DELETE, F1, F2, F10, F12 or Alt+S (choose one or combined key that screen may display a sentence while computer starts), then set bios to boot pc from USB Flash Drive, restart pc and there will load software program.
Step 4. Choose the user account that you need reset the unknown logon password, click "reset" button to begin password reset.
Step 5. A message box will pop up, just click "Yes", then the login password will be reset a new one.
Step 6. Shift out this Windows password reset disk, restart PC with logon password problem. Now you will successfully logon Windows without password.
As the Windows 8 Release Preview comes up, there are always large topics on forgot Windows 8 password. Also, such as Installation Loop problem: I am trying to install the Windows 8 Release Preview onto a formatted partition (My only other partition is (Linux Ubuntu). I install it fine and it then says I need to restart for it to complete the installation, and then when it reboots it starts from the beginning. Any ideas to fix this? |
