Hello
Is it possible to activate a node wide automatic authorization?
I'd like to deplay ejabberd in a company and put all employees in shared
roster groups but do not like to explain everybody how and why to
authorize everybody else 
Currently I use the builtin database as I didn't want to have another
database server running but would it be possible to manipulate the
corresponding user entries with SQL queries to reach that goal if I
was using e.g. MySQL? The roster is stored on the server after all.

On the other hand, I might have missed to understand the question.. You
just want/need a shared group with every local user in it, right? And
you want to auto-add new users to that group? I'm not sure what you're
refering to with this "authorization" - since the server should manage
the subscriptions for shared roster groups, imho.

No I already *have* a shared roster with all people of my departement in
it but those with whom I had no communication yet are still shown as
not authorized in my client i.e. I do not see their online/offline/away
status yet.
Maybe this even is a client thing and there's no solution for it but
I hoped somebody could tell me for sure
