Hi,
After getting single node rabbit server working fine (with the qpid
python client) I am trying to use rabbitmq-multi to get multiple nodes
going. I am on OS X and I get the following:
$ rabbitmq-multi start_all 2
Starting all nodes...
Starting node 0....................
rabbit_multi action start_all failed:
timeout_waiting_for_node_to_come_up
I have put lots of debugging statement in and have played around with
different cluster config files, but I can't get this to work. Is
there something trivial that I am not doing or is there a bug?
Thanks
Brian

Are there any errors being reported in the log files (under
/var/log/rabbitmq by default)?
Matthias.

The logs are empty after the failure, so there isn't really anything to look at.
Hmm. I am willing to poke around the code, but being new to erlang
and rabbitmq, it is tough to figure out where to start looking. Any
ideas?

rabbitmq-multi is a shell script that calls the rabbit_multi erlang
module. So those two are the place to start looking / debugging.
The program expects to find the rabbitmq-server script in the same
directory as the rabbitmq-multi script and uses that to launch the
individual nodes. So one possible failure is that the rabbitmq-server
script cannot be found or invoking it produces an error.
Matthias.
