I have installed the R12B-1 on my machine that had previously/currently an R11B in another path.
I have run the config to /opt/erlang and installed, but I still get the R11B 5-5-5 version when I erl that sits in /usr/local/bin.
How do I get the R12B without going around deleting files?
Can I set up my system and also my ERLIDE to see the R12B? and not trash the R11B that sits in my /usr/local/bin?
Note: I intend to use the latest erlide and this is the whole point of my getting R12B-1, as my old erlide plugin keeps hanging on Eclipse 3.2.2, so I wish to moved to Eclipse 3.3.2 and the latest erlide that demands R12B.
p.s. if anyone can tell me the right ERL_TOP to tell erlide for an erlang installed in /opt/erlang I would be also v grateful, as I have managed to "hang" multiple eclipse workspaces that can never open due to duff ERL_TOP paths! It would be nice if things were a little more robust, but erlide has been useful so I do not want to complain too much, just for me to get it right.
Sorry for long post, but I was happily (except for odd hangs) using erlide/Erlang and had to step back for a few months and I am now very rusty again.
Thanks in advance |

| FYI I resorted to just removing the hard links in /usr/local and now >erl gets me 5.6.1, which is my R12B install. |
