Hello,

We have uploaded a beta 2 version archive at:
http://www.process-one.net/en/projects/ejabberd/download/beta/ejabberd-1.1.2_beta2.tar.gz

It contains a small doc update and some minor MUC string changes.
A minor translation update is needed, but it will not need a lot of work
as only 4 MUC related strings have been changed.

We are targeting a 1.1.2 release for the 27th of september, if no
blocking element is found and we will integrate updated translations until
the last moment.

Cheers,

Anybody that can translate those strings can post an email here with
the translation.

The languages that still require some translation update are:

CS, DE, PL, SK are missing just three strings used on chatroom configuration:
{"Make real JIDs discovered for", ""}.
{"moderators only", ""}.
{"anyone", ""}.

PT-BR is missing four strings:
{"Make real JIDs discovered for", ""}.
{"moderators only", ""}.
{"anyone", ""}.
{"is now known as", ""}.

Unfortunately, PT is missing 152 strings and SV 114. If anybody is
interested in helping to update those languages, just say so. Even if
the translation is not finished for 1.1.2, it will be helpful for the
next release.

And not to forget; additional translations are also welcome.

Hi, I looked over the current DE strings (without the 3 new strings),
corrected some small things. And, I would think the first string
translated by Marvin Preuss would be better like this:

{"Make real JIDs discovered for", "Echte Jabber IDs anzeigen für"}.

The others are surely perfect, and my small fixes in the diff-file are
only done because translating one time a few strings and working every
few days with them surely is a difference Wink

best wishes,

Hello,

I am currently working on the translation integration.

Which version of the german translation should I take finally ?

Hi,

if you want i could checkout the current from branches/ejabberd-1.1.2
and check all strings again. The resulting diff (or the whole file)
could i send you within the next 3 hours (maybe less, if you're under
real time pressure)...
If you mean only the 3 new strings, i would say this would be almost
perfect:

{"Make real JIDs discovered for", "Echte Jabber IDs anzeigen für"}.
{"moderators only", "nur Moderatoren"}.
{"anyone", "jeden"}.

If translators are being suggested to not translate literally because=20
the original English is confusing is there a reason you are keeping the=20
English version? (Especially considering the fact that 'Make real JIDs=20
discovered for' is incredibly awkward English.) I realize that I'm=20
coming in to this late, but I really think the older text was better=20
(though still not good) and that this late it is hard to make changes to=20
strings (especially ones that have been being debated). If I had to come=20
up with a new version of text for that option it would probably be=20
something like 'Present real JIDs to', since they aren't discovered (at=20
least not as in disco) and it isn't nearly as awkward.

Yes, maybe, but tha might be more work as this will influence all
translations.

I also think the word "real" is confusing/duplicate; maybe 'Present Jabber IDs
of participants to'?

Yes, this is more work but I will try to do it before the release.
I think however, we need at some point to manage englis as a translation
too, and use meaningfull but short code to represent message to
translate in the source code.
This will make it easier to change the English translation without
impacting all other files.

All user are always seen as JID, but sometime you only see its JID as
proxied by the MUC room.
I think the work real make sense.
